Aluminum fin stock is divided into Cladding aluminum fin stock and Non-Cladding aluminum fin stock.
Cladding aluminum fin stock

Non-Cladding aluminum fin stock
Non-Cladding aluminum fin stock is the most basic heat exchanger material. It only consists of a core layer and does not contain a cladding layer. It can be used in automotive radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers, evaporators, water tanks, heaters, and various air conditioner radiators, etc.
The brazing alloy 4343 can be replaced by 4045, 4047 according to customer requirements, and the core layer can be selected to use 3003MOD or 3005MOD according to customer needs.

Uncoated Aluminum fin stock is actually the silver light plate. It is an aluminum foil that has been rolled and annealed without any form of surface treatment. At present, there are very few uncoated aluminum foils used for air conditioners, accounting for less than 50%. While 15 years ago, uncoated aluminum foils were the mainstream.
Coated foil surfaces have been treated to provide more functionality than non-coated ones. Many countries began to use coated aluminum foil in the last 10-15 years. Many of the corrosion-resistant aluminum foils and hydrophilic aluminum foils mentioned in the following content can be classified as coated aluminum foils.
As the name suggests, corrosion-resistant aluminum fin stock is coated with a corrosion-resistant protective layer. Corrosion-resistant aluminum foil can not only be used in harsh environments, improve the service life of air conditioners, but also help improve the ventilation quality of air conditioners. So, it is widely used.
The surface of hydrophilic aluminum Fin Stock foil has strong hydrophilicity and certain corrosion resistance. Its main function is hydrophobicity, which avoids the effect of water droplets "bridge" between the heat exchange fins and affects the ventilation effect of the heat exchanger. In this way, it can improve the heat exchange rate of the air conditioner and save electricity under the same cooling capacity. In the past, the general hydrophilic aluminum foil on the market not only has good hydrophilicity on the surface, but also has high corrosion resistance, so that the performance of the air conditioner is more optimized.
Hydrophobic aluminum fin stock foil is also called hydrophobic aluminum foil. Its surface properties are the opposite of hydrophilic aluminum foil, but its ultimate goal is also to prevent condensed water from remaining between the heat exchange fins. The difference is that the hydrophobic aluminum foil achieves the purpose of removing the condensed water between the heat exchange fins by increasing the contact angle between the condensed water and the heat exchange fins, so that the condensed water forms droplets that are easy to slide off.
Self-lubricating aluminum fin stock foil does not need to add lubricating oil separately during its punching process, and the lubrication during punching is borne by the pre-treated film on the surface of the aluminum foil. Since there is no need to add lubricating oil, the subsequent cleaning and drying processes of trichloroethylene are also omitted.
Mildew-proof aluminum finstock foil is mainly used for the indoor unit part of the air wither. Its main function is to prevent the surface of the heat exchange fin from becoming moldy due to the use or placement for a long time, thereby improving the ventilation quality of the empty wither.
Since the lubricating oil on the surface of the heat exchange fin after punching needs to be removed with an alkaline cleaning agent, it is required that the functional coating on the surface of the aluminum foil must have a certain alkali resistance. The experimental conditions are generally immersed in 20% NaOH solution for 3 minutes, and then take out the experimental aluminum foil to see if the aluminum foil foams.
This experiment is to test the degree of corrosion after a long time at a certain temperature and a certain humidity, so as to judge its corrosion resistance. This performance is also an important indicator to measure the weatherability of the heat exchanger fins.
The purpose of the experiment is to carry out the salt spray experiment of extreme test on the corrosion resistance of the fins with professional instruments to simulate the influence of the harsh environment on the fins in reality.
Experimental conditions: The test aluminum foil was placed in a salt water spray environment of 35 °C and 3%.
Experimental basis: "GB/T10125-2012-Artificial Atmosphere Corrosion Test-Salt Spray Test". General outdoor environmental materials require resistance to neutral salt spray for 500h.
Experimental requirements: No corrosion spots are required for 500h, because the resistance to salt spray corrosion is directly related to the service life of the heat exchange fins.
The aluminum fin material is punched and flanged by a punching machine to become a heat dissipation fin. A heat exchanger is formed after tube threaded, tube expanded, degreased, and assembled. Cladding aluminum fin stock is mainly used in automotive parallel flow condensers.
