A. Painted Aluminium Coil for car license plate

Chalco Aluminum Coat produces a range of products specifically designed for this very specialised end-use and has been a leading supplier to this market for many years, in different parts of the world.
The products include materials for embossed plates which demand extreme ductility in the base metal, as well as for the multilayer systems common in parts of Asian.

Typical license plate types:

• Pre-treated aluminium to accept retro-reflective film for subsequent embossing and overprinting.
• White coated material for embossing and overprinting.
• White coated base sheet for embossing and black coated thin gauge sheet for perforating and bonding to the base aluminium in producing a composite plate.



Material specifications

The alloy and temper requirements are related to whether the plate is to be embossed. If this is the case, the material is typically 1050 or 1200 in thicker gauges around 1.0 – 1.2 mm, temper H42
In the laminated license plate, the thinner coated aluminium is typically 3105, 0.30 mm thick.
Chalco Aluminum Coat ’s unique pre-treatment is used prior to the primer and topcoat paint system. The process produces a clean surface with a thin aluminium oxide film. This film is an integral part of the aluminium surface and is flexible due to its porous structure. This pre-treatment prepares the surface for excellent paint adhesion and corrosion resistance of the painted products. The pre-treatment is non-toxic and does not contain any chromium or heavy metal based chemicals and, therefore, underlines Chalco Aluminum Coat’s environmental friendly profile.
The coating is a special formulation with properties unique for this end-use. It must be highly flexible to withstand the drawing which takes place during plate manufacture, resistant to road salt, petrol and diesel, and yet accepts the laminated retro-reflective film with high levels of adhesion. These properties are covered in various national and international standards with which materials must comply.
The presence of a reverse coating has the benefit of assisting fabrication and reducing tool wear, due to its lubricating properties, although no lubricants are normally present. It also acts as a protector to the front coating, reducing the risk of pressure and metal marking.

C. Painted Aluminium Coil for Caravans
 
Chalco Aluminum Coat produces a range of coils and sheets specifically designed for this demanding end-use and has been a major supplier to the caravan industry for many years. Chalco Aluminum Coat takes pride in supplying products based on environmentally friendly raw materials.

Material specification

The alloy used for caravan sheet is commonly in the 3000-series, mainly in the 3003 and 3105 range. Temper is selected to satisfy the roll forming, folding and other fabricating requirements associated with caravan construction, mainly in H44 temper,, and thickness normally ranges from 0.8mm upto 1.5mm, normally 1.0mm.

Color: front side normally white wash color with high gloss, back side normally clear lacquer.

The pre-treatment is non-toxic and does not contain any chromium or heavy metal based chemicals and, therefore, underlines Chalco Aluminum Coat’s environmental friendly profile. The front side coating used is normally high gloss. The reverse side coating is normally a clear lacquer which has been designed for use with the types of adhesive used in bonding caravan sides. In these cases care should be taken to ensure that the Chalco Aluminum Coat lacquer is compatible with the specific adhesive to be used in practice. Samples can normally be provided for these evaluations. The reverse coating is equally a protector to the front coating, reducing the risk of pressure and metal marking, and acting as a lubricant in the forming process. Stucco embossing is available on request.

D. Lacquered aluminium foil for heat exchanger fin
 
Chalco Aluminum Coat lacquered aluminium foil fin stock for heat exchanger have two types, one is normal hydrophilic aluminium foil (blue),and the other is high corrosion of hydrophilic aluminium foil( Golden).
Normal hydrophilic aluminum foil coated in blue color, this lacquered aluminium foil makes the condensated water drop to become a layer avoiding the feasibility of ice bridges. It allows to produce smaller equipment.
High corrosion of hydrophilic aluminium foil coated in golden color, is an excellent solution of coating against corrosion of the fin. Expoxy resins based on highly specific to this application, provides the desired protection in a wide range of colours.

Product description Aluminium foil from 100 to 300 um with silica based or silica free lacquer for both sides. Aluminium foil from 100 to 300 um with epoxy based lacquer, PU based lacquer, or EPPU double layer for both sides.

Recommended alloys:

8011, 1100, 3102 alloy, customer can specify its needs in order to choose the best thickness, alloy and temper of the metal.
